CELTIC HILLFORT

Fog, rain and the Celtic Hillfort in Otzenhausen (Saarland, Germany): This “Photoshooting“ in the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park was mystical and perfect for the famous moody instagram look. At this day in autumn, the Nonnweiler Dam was surrounded by thick fog, now and then alternating with rain. The weather couldn’t have been more suitable for this photo shoot.

Moody Instagram Look

Everybody knows them: The atmospheric, “moody“ photos on Instagram. Dark, high-contrast colours, not a soul around and absolutely stunning landscapes. Obviously, the photos don’t come out of the camera like that; they need extensive finishing. The contrast has to be adjusted, the saturation reduced or increased, the sharpness readjusted and so on. It is a long process and not done with just one single “click” on the shutter button.

Even my last portrait shoot brought a great deal of photo editing in its train, until I made them public. Programs like Adobe Lightroom help a ton and are used by every professional. So, everyone who wants to kick it up a notch should just watch one of the many Youtube Tutorials out there.
